Again, when trying to impart this knowledge to students, I guess I would concentrate on what we really need to know. That way, we will remember what we learned. There is a lot of extraneous stuff. For example, there are fire whirls, and they show extreme fire. Is it really important for safety to know how they form? I mean, they can't be predicted. They just need to be recognized as part of the main problem, which is to get the fire under control.

lesson seemed very trivial and general. most info should be basic training and not present in this level of course. condense the topics to what course is designed towards and stay on the point. more of a review than a training.

Showing schematics (or better yet videos with instruction) I think would have been more effective teaching tools than the large amoung of text with largely static pictures of ongoing fires. Schematics could show the wind movement and patterns better even than the existing videos. Breaking the lesson up with fewer paragraphs and more activities would have been good, although the quizzes were helpful. Some of the quiz material seems subjective and not enough information about scenarious was given (e.g. no information was given to tell whether ladder fuels were or were not present, therefore how would an answer on whether they contributed to a crown fire be derived).
