  • Determine which EPS products to use based on lead-time, location, or potential impacts
  • Interpret EPS guidance to assess the following:
    • If the event will meet the critical thresholds for warning/watch/advisory
    • The timing of the event (onset and end)
    • The precipitation type and amount
    • The level of uncertainty in event timing and precipitation type and amount
  • Communicate any forecast uncertainty and potential impacts of the event to the public and associated decision makers:
    • Use best practices that enable user understanding of probabilistic weather information and incorporate user needs
    • Practice responding to social media inquiries
