COMET’s media development and production teams have been converting lessons from Adobe Flash to HTML5/MP4 for the past 19 months. As of the beginning of February, more than 120 lessons have been converted and 25 multimedia lessons have been retired while keeping the print versions available. You’ll notice these when you try to begin the lesson. You’ll see a pop-up notice that will take you to the print version. Two of the most difficult-to-convert lessons, Skew-T Mastery and Tephigram Mastery are well on their way to be converted. Skew-T Mastery, including the interactive Skew-T, should be published on MetEd by February 17. Tephigram Mastery will be finished at a later date, early this year. We received additional funding near the end of 2020, so we’ve added several lessons to our conversion list. If you have questions about whether a particular lesson, or set of lessons, will be converted, please contact us at info@comet.ucar.edu. The COMET Program is especially appreciative of our sponsors who were able to find funding to support this effort. NOAA (The National Weather Service and The National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), The Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC), The European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), Bureau of Meteorology (Australia) and The U.S. Navy have all offered to provide funding. We also worked together with FEMA to convert Anticipating Hazardous Weather and Community Risk, and Community Hurricane Preparedness, two of our most popular lessons in terms of use. COMET appreciates your patience, and we are looking forward to completing this project. As always, thank you for using MetEd!Ambiente y sociedad

As always, thank you for using MetEd!Otros temas

Flash Conversion Update
