Synoptic Meteorology
Description
This course presents the structure and behavior of midlatitude, synoptic-scale weather systems, including a review of the fundamentals of midlatitude atmospheric dynamics and scales of motion. The following weather systems and phenomena are included: jet streams, air masses, fronts, cyclones and anticyclones. Quasi-geostrophic theory is also covered.
