NPOESS/COMET Userport Website Homepage
(http://meted.ucar.edu/npoess/) The NPOESS/COMET Userport Website provides
information and training for the current and proposed generation of operational
polar-orbiting meteorological satellites. There is also a community listserv and
threaded discussion group dedicated to POES/NPOESS issues and questions. Links to
realtime data sources and other resources (including multimedia education and
training modules) also reside on this Website.

Terra Spacecraft
and MODIS Overview – NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
(https://terra.nasa.gov/About)
This site provides information about NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS) Terra
spacecraft launched 18 December 1999. Included are links to each of the Terra
instruments, with access to data, latest imagery, publications, and interesting
visualizations.
|
Aqua Spacecraft Website – NASA Goddard
Space Flight Center (https://aqua.nasa.gov/) This site contains
information about NASA’s Earth Observing System (EOS) Aqua spacecraft (the follow-on to
Terra) launched 4 May 2002. Included on the site are mission, spacecraft and instrument
overviews, a photo gallery, and information about direct broadcast capabilities for both
Terra and Aqua.

MODIS and Other EOS (Earth Observing System) Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents
(ATBDs) (http://eospso.gsfc.nasa.gov/eos_homepage/for_scientists/atbd/index.php)
This site includes a comprehensive listing of MODIS ATBDs for level-0 to level-4 data
products. ATBDs provide the theoretical basis (physical theory, mathematical procedures,
and possible assumptions) for the calculations that convert the radiances received by
the instruments to geophysical quantities. Documents are provided in PDF format.
