This training offers an overview of the NOAA Satellite Proving Ground Global Flood Website. The website provides flood extent information useful in numerous applications, including inland and river flooding, tropical storm flooding, dam breaks, ice jam flooding, and environmental analyses. The website is hosted by the University of Wisconsin Space Science and Engineering Center/Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (UW SSEC/CIMSS) using the Real Earth interface. The site provides NOAA low-Earth orbit (LEO) and geostationary (GEO) flood mapping products developed by George Mason University (GMU), including Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) and Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) daily products, Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) 1-day and 5-day composites, VIIRS near-real time products, and ABI/VIIRS and AHI/VIIRS composites.
