Privacy Policy

The COMET® Program’s Lesson Builder add-on is used to turn a specifically-formatted Google Doc into an educational lesson that may be hosted on www.meted.ucar.edu or one of the other websites COMET (comet.ucar.edu) operates.

When the user clicks the “Add Code” button in the Lesson Builder interface, the add-on can write selected, specifically-formatted, content to the document for the user. The Lesson Builder cannot modify any other content in your document.

When the user clicks the “Publish” button, any user-generated content in the Google Doc will be read from your document and stored in one of COMET's databases as the contents for the hosted educational lesson. The Google doc identifier is manually added to our database to ensure continuity between your document and our hosted educational lesson as a method of controlling injections into our databases. No other metadata is collected from you as the user or from the user-generated document.

Other than expressly identified above, no other personally-identifiable information or personal data is collected by COMET or shared with third-parties. This application only accesses, uses, and stores the user-generated content for an educational lesson in the Google Doc provided by the user. The application does not access, use, store or share any Google user data.
