Track charts show the location and path of a tropical cyclone's circulation center. The path looks like a line with points on it. The line is colored green for times when the cyclone was tropical storm strength and red for times when it was hurricane strength. Yellow dots show where the cyclone center was each evening at 8:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time), and blue dots show where the center was at 8:00 AM.
When you look at track charts you should remember they only show where the center of the cyclone is and was, not the whole width of the storm.
