Where...?

If your family does not have to evacuate from a hurricane, you should stay in the safest room of your home during the storm.

What kind of place is safe?

A specially built tornado-safe shelter in or near your home.
An interior closet, small room, or lower hallway with no windows or doors to the outside.
If you don't have this, hide under heavy desks or tables, away from the windows.
Stay inside until local officials say it is safe to come out!
