"Good evening. This is Steve Lyons reporting live from the Weather Channel studios. It's 8:00 PM, on Sunday, July 30. We're keeping track of a new storm in the Atlantic. Its name is Tropical Storm Erin, and right now, Erin is located north of Haiti, between the extreme southeastern Bahamas and the Turks & Caicos. Erin's coordinates are 22.3° North Latitude and 73.2° West Longitude. The storm's minimum central pressure is now 1004 millibars, and maximum sustained winds are 45 knots, or a little over 50 miles per hour, with gusts to 60 miles per hour."
"Tropical storm warnings have been issued for the central and southeastern Bahamas. A tropical storm watch is in effect for the northern Bahamas and the southern half of the Florida Peninsula, from Sebastian Inlet on the East Coast to just north of Fort Myers on the West Coast. The watch also includes the Florida Keys."
"Tropical Storm Erin continues to strengthen as it impacts the southeastern Bahamas. We'll keep a close eye on this storm over the next several days as it approaches the U.S.; stay tuned for breaking news on this storm."
