Waves and Storm Surge

Storm surge is a huge dome of ocean water, 30-80 km (20-50 miles) wide that is driven onto land when a hurricane makes landfall. Storm surge can be very powerful and dangerous. This picture shows two ships that were moved onto land by hurricane storm surge.
