Isentropic Analysis Technique

which leads to a presentation by Dr. Jim Moore (Saint Louis University) on isentropic analysis. Rob says "My AWIPS procedures have Pressure, Wind and RH in a plan view. I change the isentropic surface to intersect a pressure level about 50 millibars above ground or so. Then look for areas of higher RH where the wind is blowing from lower to higher pressure. This approach has helped me considerably here in the southern high plains of west Texas. This technique also helps with the POP and temperature forecast."
