As a broadcast meteorologist you can play an important role in your community, helping to protect against health threats and promote good health of your viewing audience. This course will help you broaden your understanding of the impacts of weather and climate on public health. It also introduces you to the public health risk communication system, informing you about reliable public health support services, tools, and resources available to you.
After completing this course, you will know more about how other broadcast meteorologist are patterning with local public health agencies to incorporate health messages into their daily weathercasts. And hopefully you will find some new ways to enhance your own broadcast segment as well.
