The AWIPS Validation Effort (AVE) was completed in 2001. The project compared the model graphical output of the relatively new AWIPS software with the existing GEMPAK (or GARP) software. At this point it is likely that some of the results of that comparison are outdated as the AWIPS software has had numerous changes over the last 4 years and we have not examined these changes to see how they would affect or change our initial findings and reports. Therefore the project results have been removed from the COMET's MetEd website.
